The colloidal lead-acid battery is an improvement of the ordinary lead-acid battery with liquid electrolyte. The sulfuric acid electrolyte is replaced by colloidal electrolyte, and the safety, power storage, discharge performance and service life are improved compared with the ordinary battery.

The colloidal lead-acid battery adopts gel-like electrolyte, and there is no free liquid inside. Under the same volume, the electrolyte capacity is large, the heat capacity is large, and the heat dissipation ability is strong, which can avoid the thermal runaway phenomenon of the general battery. The electrolyte concentration is low, and the corrosion effect on the plate is weak. The concentration is uniform and there is no delamination of electrolyte.

Working principle

The performance of the colloidal lead-acid battery is better than that of the valve-controlled sealed lead-acid battery. The colloidal lead-acid battery has the advantages of stable performance, high reliability, long service life, strong adaptability to the ambient temperature (high and low temperature), strong ability to withstand long-term discharge, cyclic discharge, deep discharge and large current discharge, and self-protection of overcharge and overdischarge.

The domestic colloidal lead-acid battery used for electric bicycles is filled by vacuum in the AGM separator, and the silica gel and sulfuric acid solution are poured between the positive and negative plates of the battery. Colloidal lead-acid batteries can not be used in the initial oxygen cycle, this is because the colloid is surrounded by positive and negative plates, the oxygen generated above the positive plate can not be diffused to the negative plate, can not be achieved with the active substance lead reduction on the negative plate, can only be discharged by the exhaust valve, consistent with the liquid-rich battery.

The exhaust valve is no longer often opened, the colloidal lead-acid battery is close to the seal work, and the water loss is very little. Colloidal electrolyte is the sulfuric acid electrolyte solidified into a colloidal substance by adding a gel agent to the electrolyte, usually colloidal electrolyte is also added with colloidal stabilizer and capacitator, some colloidal formulations are also added to delay colloidal solidification and delay agent, in order to facilitate colloidal filling.
