1. Different memory effects

Lithium batteries have no memory effect; The battery can be charged and discharged at any time, and the self-discharge of the battery is low. Lead-acid battery has memory effect, can not be charged at any time discharge; There is a serious self-discharge phenomenon, the battery shelved for a period of time is easy to scrap; The discharge rate is small, can not be long time large current discharge.

2. Different working temperature

The common lithium battery operating temperature is -20-60 degrees Celsius, but generally below 0 ° C lithium battery performance will be reduced, discharge capacity will be reduced accordingly, so the lithium battery performance is complete operating temperature, common is 0~40 ° C. The operating temperature of the lead-acid battery is generally required to be between 20 ° C and 25 ° C, and when it is lower than 15 ° C, its discharge capacity decreases, and when the temperature is reduced by 1 ° C, its capacity decreases by 1%, while the temperature is too high (greater than 30 ° C) its life will be greatly shortened.

3. Different working principles

Lithium-ion batteries are characterized by their light weight and ease of carrying. Lithium-ion batteries are a class of batteries made of lithium metal or lithium alloy as a negative electrode material and using a non-aqueous electrolyte solution. Lead-acid batteries can store limited electrical energy and use it in the right place. It works by converting chemical energy into electricity. It uses a lead plate filled with spongy lead as a negative electrode, a lead plate filled with lead dioxide as a positive electrode, and 22 ~ 28% dilute sulfuric acid as an electrolyte. When charging, electrical energy is converted into chemical energy, and when discharging, chemical energy is converted into electrical energy.

4. Different use cases

The advantages of lead batteries are cheap, good safety, no danger of combustion, large discharge current, usually within 5c are easy to deal with, low temperature resistance, minus 30 degrees can also release nearly half of the electricity. Compared with lead batteries, lithium batteries are light weight, large capacity, single voltage 3.7~4.2v, which is suitable for electrical appliances with high weight and volume requirements, such as portable electrical appliances, mobile phones, notebooks, flashlights and so on.

5. Different security

The disadvantage of lithium battery is that the price is high, the positive and negative electrode materials are used in precious metals, and the second is the electrode material is used in lithium compounds, lithium is a lively metal, in the case of oxygen and improper charging and discharging, it will release a lot of heat energy, resulting in violent oxidation reaction, because lithium batteries usually adopt rigid container sealing, rapid temperature rise will inevitably lead to pressure rise, which has the risk of explosion. In order to control this insecurity, lithium batteries and combinations must have a circuit board to control the charge and discharge current and voltage, also known as the protection board. It is also for this reason that lithium batteries can not be discharged at will, and the electrical activity becomes worse under low temperature conditions.
